The session will help DSLs to understand their role preparing for an Ofsted inspection.
- Ensuring effective safeguarding compliance in line with KCSiE statutory guidance
- How they can further strengthen an open and positive culture of safeguarding
- Ways to evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding at their setting.
Description
During our interactive training session, we will provide you with ideas of how to get your school ready for the safeguarding aspects of your inspection by:
- Helping you to understand what an open and positive culture of safeguarding looks like and how you can monitor and evidence this.
- Clarifying what good record keeping looks like and how you can ensure that incidents and referrals are identified and managed.
- Supporting you with the documentation that you will need to have prepared prior to inspection.
Throughout the session, there will be opportunities to discuss with colleagues, share good practice with other Designated Safeguarding Leads and benefit from the opportunity to get advice from our expert safeguarding team.
Come along to the session, to understand the full implications of the DSL role for ensuring effective safeguarding compliance, how to further strengthen an open and positive culture of safeguarding and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding at your setting.

- Recording keeping
- Monitoring and reviewing
- How do your Governors know that your safeguarding systems are in place?

DSLs will understand the safeguarding expectations within an Ofsted inspection and be able to reflect on how they can further strengthen their own school’s open and positive culture of safeguarding.
