Dr Alexandra Thorp
Dr Alexandra Thorp is CEO of the Gosforth Group. Before joining the Gosforth Group, Alexandra worked as a Senior HMI for Ofsted, where she was the regional lead for SEND. She has over 20 years’ experience as a primary head teacher in a wide range of urban and rural settings, including schools with enhanced SEND provision for pupils with hearing impairment and speech and language needs. As a consultant leader, she has supported school improvement and leadership development across both primary and secondary phases, and delivered training for governing bodies in curriculum and school improvement. A strong advocate of distributed leadership and the power of coaching, Alexandra’s specialisms include leadership development, curriculum design, SEND, and early years education.
