Event Overview

Equipping Children With The Values To Make Wise Financial Decisions – Emma Mahon, Senior Financial Education Team Lead, Just Finance Foundation

In light of the upcoming 2028, changes to the curriculum when financial education will become statutory in primary schools, we know teachers are asking ‘How?’ in an already jam-packed curriculum. In this session, we will identify the difficulties in approaching this topic and explain how teachers can embed this subject through the values in their curriculum from Reception to Year 6 alongside staff CPD and the potential to start a Savings Club. Tackling the topic of finances with children as young as 4 can be an intimidating topic but with the right language and information we can equip teachers and pupils with the skills they need to protect their future financial wellbeing.
