Outline

This course aims to support schools with planning, delivering and monitoring a high-quality relationships and sex education curriculum in their school, that effectively meets the statutory relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) curriculum, a safeguarding curriculum and the needs of the pupils.

Themes covered:

• Statutory learning outcomes for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) in a primary school
• Relationships and Sex Education policies
• Effective components for teaching RSE in a primary school
• Inclusive resources for primary schools
• Teaching puberty and sex education
• Signposting to resources to support the teaching and learning

Outcomes

• Understand how to effectively implement and monitor the Relationships and Sex Education curriculum that meets the statutory requirements and the needs of the pupils in your school.
• Increased awareness of teaching and learning methodology for effective learning from the Relationships and Sex Education Curriculum across all the year groups in a primary school
