A modern curriculum so young people are ready for work and life
13/06/24 – The 2024 Labour Manifesto, Labour promised to launch an expert-led review of curriculum and assessment in their manifesto.
19/07/24 – The review was launched and panel announced, to be chaired by Professor Becky Francis.
25/09/24 – A call for evidence opened, running until 22nd November 2024. The review is also hosting 2 online webinars and 9 events across England during October and November 2024. The review will publish recommendations in 2025.
17/12/24 – Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill introduced to Parliament. The review is due to publish its recommendations in autumn 2025. The Bill will require all state-funded schools – including academies – to teach the national curriculum. The government will bring the measure into force once a reformed curriculum has been developed following the advice of the Curriculum and Assessment Review
08/01/25 – Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill had its second reading.
