Karl McGrath
Year 6 Teacher and Task Design & Curriculum Implementation Lead, Benton Park Primary School
Karl is a passionate Year 6 teacher with 10 years of experience in education. His diverse background includes roles as a family & pastoral support worker at Hotspur Primary and Computing lead at West Jesmond Primary. He has facilitated courses and curriculum development on behalf of the National Centre for Computing Education as well as presenting nationally at the Computing at Schools conference. Now the Task Design and Curriculum Implementation lead at Benton Park Primary. Karl’s love for technology and belief in the impact of graphic organisers and encouraging deeper thinking drives him to create dynamic and engaging learning experiences for his students which he relishes in sharing widely.
John Dolman
Teacher of Media Studies, Ponteland High School
With over 25 years of experience in education, John is a passionate and innovative teacher of English and Media. John has a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Practitioner Enquiry from Newcastle University, and has led and trained teachers in various settings and levels, from mentoring ITT students through to coaching and training experienced staff. John has developed and applied skills in AI and generative AI to enhance his teaching and learning practices, as well as to inspire and challenge my students. This has led to John leading training with the leadership team and SEND department in his previous school and rolling out several successful AI platforms to staff, culminating in a school wide pilot of a student facing AI platform. John is the author of a successful blog as The AI English Teacher and has collaborated with a wide network of international contacts on AI applications in education. Most recently he has been co-hosting the podcast Carpool CPD with friend and colleague Mike Driver, where we discuss all things EdTech, AI and pedagogical.

Do I need to install Zoom?
You can join the call without downloading Zoom by clicking ‘join from browser’ when you launch the call on the day of the event.

Can I ask the presenter questions?
You can submit questions for the speaker when you register, using the Zoom registration form.
The Zoom chat function will also be available during the call and questions can be submitted here. You will also have the chance to unmute and speak directly with the speaker during any allocated Q&A sessions.
