Excellent results for Emmanuel College

Emmanuel College has achieved an outstanding set of A Level results, which is a tribute to the hard work of the students, and the support and dedication of the staff.

Overall, for A Level and vocational subjects, the percentage of A* grades (18%) and A*/A grades (47%) or equivalent are the highest they have seen in the last five published years.

An outstanding 8.3% of A Level grades were an A*. Furthermore, the percentage of A Level grades at A*/A was a fantastic 32% and grades at B or above at 64%. Both of these percentages are an increase on 2019. The average grade at A Level was a B. The average grade for vocational subjects was a Distinction, the equivalent of an A at A Level.

For the students studying A Level, five students achieved four grades at A* or A and 12 students achieved three grades at A* or A. 20 students achieved the equivalent of three A grades or higher in their vocational results. Collectively, this represents 30% of students.


The students are leaving Emmanuel College to pursue a huge range of courses and university options. These include six students studying Medicine and two Dentistry. The college is also continuing their proud record as a City Technology College, with nine students leaving Emmanuel to study Computer Science related qualifications. 13 students will be studying Engineering.

A number of our students have successfully combined both BTEC and A Level courses of study and have secured places at university to study subjects such as Biomedical Sciences and Criminology with Psychology.
