In May, students from across the country joined Walk to School Week. Ian Levy MP for Blyth Valley met with pupils from Malvin’s Close Academy as they walked to school and learned how students are finding ways to be active on the school run. Malvin’s is part of the Wise Academies Trust.

Errington Primary School in Marske has been judged to remain a ‘good’ school by Ofsted following their visit on 29-30th March 2023. The school was last inspected in 2016 and converted to an academy, joining Tees Valley Collaborative Trust, in 2018.

The third session of the House of Commons Education Committee’s inquiry into persistent absence and support for disadvantaged children took place this week, with questions focussing on wider support children and young people receive to improve attendance.
