Head teacher - Hylton Castle Primary School

Kidsafe is a fantastic programme which teaches children effective skills to enable them to know how to keep themselves safe. It provides them with the language and confidence to speak out if their rights to feel safe have been compromised.

Children of all ages love KS, the puppet, and this is a great way to introduce and discuss sensitive topics and scenarios while protecting children’s innocence. KS is also a great tool which we use to encourage children to speak openly about anything that makes them feel sad, scared or worried.

The programme is repetitive and progressive, with scenarios being age-appropriate from Reception right up to Year 6 and these are complemented by the additional one-hour workshops available.

We highly recommend Kidsafe!

Oakfield Infant & Junior School Federation

The adoption and implementation of the Kidsafe programme across the federation has been a resounding success!  The Kidsafe programme is a brilliant whole school approach that teaches children how to keep themselves safe - it is a child's safeguarding training kit!

Pupils love KS, the puppet that aids the delivery of sessions, and introduces the sensitive, age-appropriate scenarios through which children develop their understanding of how to feel safe and stay safe.  The whole concept is simple, yet very powerful.

The programme reinforces the need to talk to a trusted adult about anything that makes us feel scared, worried, or sad.  It compliments and deepens our PSHE curriculum and is a wonderful, practical tool at developing pupils understanding of their own mental health and well-being.  A wonderful, well-structured and resourced programme - indispensable!
