Find out how your school can improve its chances of finding the right candidates.
School leaders have identified teacher recruitment and retention as one of the most urgent and costly issues facing them. With the number of advertised jobs outweighing the number of candidates, this staff shortage crisis is one that all indicators suggest will worsen over the next five years.
The Behavioural Insights team, one of the world's foremost organisations in changing human behaviour, is coming to the region to share insights with schools into how they can attract more candidates for teaching vacancies. BIT has extensive experience of working in education settings, including supporting the Somerset Schools Challenge to address specific issues around low numbers of candidates applying for teaching vacancies.
The event will also see the launch of a new recruitment portal created by schools, for schools - Jobs in Schools | North East.
Confirmed speakers: Susannah Hume - Senior Advisor, The Behavioural Insights Team; Iain Veitch - Head Teacher, Park View School; Wendy Taylor - School Business Manager, Park View School.
