SNE School Business Management Conference

We are delighted to invite you to attend the inaugural SCHOOLS NorthEast ‘What You Need to Know.…’ School Business Management Conference, which will take place at The Workplace in Newton Aycliffe on 5 July 2013.

 

This unique event offers all of the benefits of a high profile national conference right here in the North East and is available exclusively to North East School Business Managers.   The conference will include a mix of keynote speeches, practical surgeries, and interactive workshops. It will provide a fantastic opportunity to network with your colleagues from around the region and a range of specially selected provider organisations.

 

The Audience

The event is aimed at all individuals involved in the business management of schools including School Business Managers and any school staff involved in finance, HR, procurement, project management or academy conversion.

 

A Regional Focus

Delegates will get a distinctly North East flavour right from the start with the plenary session entitled ‘The State of the Region’.   This will set the context for what is happening across the North East with regards to issues impacting on school business management as well as exploring local, regional and national trends. The day will end with a tour of Best Practice delivered by North East School Business Management practitioners, giving delegates the opportunity to ask questions, make new contacts, and explore new ideas. 

 

Conference Programme

The theme of the day will be a forward looking agenda based around ‘What You Need to Know….’ for the coming academic year.   In between each key note speech, delegates will be able to create their own conference agenda by choosing from one of four different sessions. 

 

Sessions will cover topics including: How to manage major school works – a poacher’s eye view; HR myth – busting; facilities management; teaching and support staff performance management; bid writing and accessing funding; procurement and contracting (including group collaborations); SFVS versus Academy standards; multimedia and marketing; Health & Safety;  and much more.

 

Network and Conference Exhibition

Over lunch, you will be able to tour the conference exhibition and engage with our range of specially selected provider organisations, meet new colleagues, and expand your personal network.

 

Location

The conference will take place on Friday 5 July 2013 at The Work Place in Newton Aycliffe http://www.twpa.org.uk/ , only 5 minutes off the A1.  Registration will be from 8.00am, with a 9.00am start,  and an expected finish time of around 3.00pm.

 

Delegate Fees

Attendance will cost £70 (plus VAT) per delegate, with our usual 20% discount for our Partner Schools (formerly Enhanced Members), with lunch and refreshments provided throughout the day.
