Roundtable with Russell Hobby, CEO, Teach First

In June, we are holding our CEO roundtable as a physical event where we will be joined by a guest speaker, Russell Hobby, CEO at Teach First.
Russell will speak with us about the recruitment and retention environment in the education sector. This will provide you with an opportunity to discuss the key challenges facing schools on teacher recruitment, and to share potential solutions.

Our roundtables this academic year will have a more strategic focus, looking in detail at individual policy issues and showcasing the solutions and good practice in our region, allowing North East schools to ‘lead not plead’. Conversations at these roundtables will inform Schools North East’s policy lobbying work, and help us refresh our recommendations in our 2019 Manifesto for North East Education.

The discussions at this roundtable will be collated into an anonymised briefing document, that we will share with educational stakeholders, both regionally and nationally, including Ofqual, DfE, Ofsted, and the media.
