We are delighted to offer schools this exciting CPD opportunity. This session, sponsored by Oxford University Press and organised and supported by educationGateshead, offers the opportunity to attend a full day of professional development on Raising Boys' Achievement: Closing the Gap with Gary Wilson - a teacher for over 27 years, Gary Wilson has led award winning campaigns, written several books and delivered training in hundreds of schools on the issue of raising boys ’ achievement.  Gary is a freelance consultant who talks about tracing under achievement from pre school to 16, and what we can do to prevent it. He explains how to interact with boys to optimise learning and overcoming barriers to achievement.

During the day you will gain an insight and understanding of the following:
Achievement: Setting the Context – Outlining the barriers to boys’ achievement from early years onwards.
Breaking through the Barriers to Boys’ Achievement in Literacy  – Effective strategies to break down the barriers to boys’ achievement.
