Learning Conversations

A full day workshop for teachers to examine your own communication skills, and gain new perspectives while developing your proficiency in having conversations which are memorable and valuable, where you truly learn. This course will take you through the steps you need to make the most of your conversations, including how to prepare the ground, establish a structure, lay down protocols, and steer the conversation so you all learn from it.

Including a step-by-step guide to developing learning conversations and how to craft the right questions to help you, it gives you all the tools you need to turn talk into action.

The aims of the workshop are to:

• introduce you to the basics of coaching
• establish the structure for effective feedback
• demonstrate how to communicate assertively yet diplomatically
• familiarise you with negotiating & influencing skills
• provide you with the tools to handle fierce conversation

The event will take place on 11th October 2012 at Close House Hotel, Wylam, Newcastle upon Tyne between 1.30pm and 5pm.
