Is your school prepared for Progress 8?

21st Apr 2015

In 2016, new KS4 accountability measures come into place. The new Progress 8 replaces the current %5 A*–C GCSE grades (including maths and English) as the key measure used as the floor standard. Under the Progress 8 measure, schools will gain recognition for the impact they have on every student.

This half-day event, supported by the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), Durham University, aims to help you understand the policy change and the practicalities and implications for your school.

Date: Tuesday 21 April 2015
Time: 12.30 – 3.30pm (with an optional networking lunch 12.00 – 12.30pm)
Venue: The Ballroom, Ramside Hall Hotel, Carrville, Durham, County Durham DH1 1TD

Experts will explain the new measures and how they are derived, focusing on Progress 8 as the new floor standard. Attendees will also have the chance to discuss the new measures with colleagues and learn about how other schools across the region are preparing for Progress 8.

The session will include keynote contributions from one of the architects of Progress 8, Tim Leunig, Chief Analyst and Senior Ministerial Policy Adviser at the Department for Education; and initial assessment and accountability expert Professor Rob Coe, Professor in the School of Education and Director of the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), Durham University.

The cost of attendance is £40+VAT for SCHOOLS NorthEast Partner Schools and £80+VAT for all other schools. If you are not already a member and would like to find out more about our Partner School Scheme, please do get in touch.
