Get into IT’ careers event

Did you know….
There are currently over 2,000 vacancies within IT organisations in the North East?
There are 32,000 people employed in IT within the North East?
IT apprenticeships are available now within the North East for 16-19yr olds
In the North East IT jobs you could have in IT include gaming, coding, designing government IT systems and more?

We’re hosting this Dynamo careers event to answer your questions about IT, help explain more about what a career in the IT sector entails, outline what type of IT roles exist in the North East, provide advice on how to get into IT, where you can find suitable IT courses, degrees and apprenticeships, and meet prospective employers!

The content of the event will appeal to ages 13+ as well as University students and graduates, parents, teachers and careers advisors.

Our Big Screen ‘A Day in the Life of an IT…’ informal programme will provide the opportunity for young people to hear directly from the horses’ mouth with 15min slots delivered by IT students, apprentices in IT and graduates and young people working within in the IT industry.

The event will also offer the ‘Tell us about IT’ interactive panel sessions with representatives from local IT businesses, universities and apprentice providers focusing on a two way conversation, we will encourage audience participation! These sessions may be most interesting to graduates, university level students, careers advisors and teachers.

Our Get into IT interactive playroom will be full of hot technology, things that show the progression and creativeness of the industry, where the sector is now and what the future holds for the North East. Get hands on and play with the future!
There will also be lots of opportunity to network and chat to those working in the IT industry.
