Early Years Conference: Responding to Reforms

Our 2021 Early Years Conference will address ‘What are the implications for the EYFS Reforms for Practice
in our Nursery and Reception classes’.

Helen and Jan (both experts have been involved in contributions that shape
the EYFS landscape) will deliver their perspectives on the implications of the
reforms. There will also be a session on implications for inspection led by
Sue Waugh, Senior Inspector of educationGateshead.

As we wait with anticipation for the finalisation of the planned reforms to EYFS, with revisions to the Statutory Guidance,
it would be prudent to begin to think ahead about what this may mean for our practice and provision.
Fully understanding these reforms will inevitably require us to revisit and reflect upon aspects of our own practice with
a renewed focus on curriculum construction, statutory and non-statutory assessment processes, alongside an
understanding of the inspection procedure in relation to these aspects for September 2021.

To help us to prepare fully for the reforms Jan and Helen will share their insight with us in exploring the changes and
the potential impact of these on current practice, providing us with an opportunity to reflect and therefore continue to
move forward in ensuring the very best outcomes for our children.
After attending this conference, you will feel better prepared for the road ahead and enthused for September 2021.
