Data protection obligations and best practice for schools and academy trusts

Wednesday 6 April, 11.00am - 12.00pm

Schools North East will be joined by Nick Dunn, Solicitor, Wrigleys Solicitors for the third webinar in our annual Governance webinar programme.

This webinar will identify some of the key issues schools face in complying with their data protection obligations and how to address them, in particular when dealing with third party data processors, handling subject access requests from pupils & parents and the managing data breaches.

Nick will also outline some of the key data protection reforms proposed by the UK Government and what this might mean for data protection compliance in the future.

Nick Dunn is a solicitor in Wrigleys’ charities and social enterprise team. Nick advises third sector organisations on a broad range of charity law and commercial issues, with a particular focus on ecclesiastical, social finance and data protection work.
Nick provides advice to charities, education institutions and social enterprises on a wide range of commercial matters, including advice on their obligations when data subjects seek to exercise their rights and advice on data protection elements of commercial agreements. Nick regularly delivers seminars on data protection issues to third sector organisations.
