Combatting In School Variation through Middle Leadership

8th Dec 2014

Date:  8 December 2014
Time:  4:30 – 6:30 pm (arrival from 4 pm for refreshments)
Location: Newcastle University
Audience: Head Teachers, Senior Leaders and Middle Leaders (multiple-delegates welcome)

Join us at this event, held in partnership with Teaching Leaders and Newcastle University, to hear and learn from what other schools in the region are doing to tackle in-school variation.

The UK education system has one of the highest levels of variation in student outcomes within the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Research shows that as much as 80 per cent of the variation in achievement among UK students lay within schools – four times more than that which occurred between different schools.

This event has been designed to promote cross-school networking and share best practice. You will have the chance to listen to short presentations from school leaders from across the North East who will share their thoughts and experiences of tackling in-school variation.

By attending, we hope that you will gain practical ideas and useful information which can be taken back to your own school and put into practice.
