Breakfast Briefing for School Leaders - legally compliant recruitment and safe school trips

Join our Education Breakfast Briefing this July to discover the steps school leaders need to take to ensure a fair and legal recruitment process and how to meet your health and safety obligations when preparing for educational visits.

Legally compliant recruitment

With growing concerns around sourcing new talent, understaffed schools across the UK are embarking on a recruitment drive this summer.

Our team are currently receiving an influx on queries around the recruitment process and the steps needed to ensure fairness and compliance with employment laws.

In this session, we’ll share the step-by-step process schools must follow to help you ensure a smooth and successful hire and avoid potential legal pitfalls.

Safe school trips

The relaxing of restrictions means the wider return of school trips and other outdoor learning activities this summer.

These educational visits have clear benefits for pupils and students, but misunderstandings surrounding the application of health and safety law may, in some cases, discourage schools and teachers from organising such trips.

In this session, you’ll learn what’s expected of schools and how to balance safety and learning.

Agenda

Hosted by solicitor and Head of our Education Team, Jane Hallas, Principal Health & Safety Consultant Scott Crichton and HR Consultant Simon Bellard, this free one-hour webinar will cover:

  • The legalities to be considered throughout the end-to-end recruitment process
  • The right way to withdraw a job offer and the potential legal implications
  • How to respond to disciplinary and safeguarding questions in a candidates’ reference
  • How to plan for and run safe and successful school trips
  • Myths surrounding health and safety on school trips
  • When things go wrong: real-life examples of accidents on educational visits, including the implications and how to avoid similar scenarios

We’ll be rounding off the session with a live Q&A. If you have a query you would like our experts to answer on any of the above topics, submit it in advance via the registration form or use the chat box during the webinar.
