Ascent SEN Conference 'Achieving and Maintaining Excellence'

This Ascent SEN Conference will build upon the success of last year’s conference by exploring what excellence means and how this can be achieved and maintained.  The day will be a mixture of keynote speakers and practical workshops.

Confirmed keynote speakers include Richard McCann, author and motivational speaker; Dr Tina Rae, specialist in social, emotional and behavioural disorders and difficulties and Dr Luke Beardon, Specialist in Autism and Asperger syndrome, Senior Lecturer in Autism, The Autism Centre, Sheffield Hallam University.

Keynote speaker - Dr Tina Rae
Dr Tina Rae is a Consultant Educational Psychologist and has a wealth of experience in working therapeutically with children and young people and their parents/carers. She is a registered member of the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and a member of the British Psychological Society. She is currently working as a Consultant EP and as an Academic and professional tutor on the Doctoral training course for Educational Psychologists in the department of Psychology at the University of East London.

Keynote speaker – Dr Luke Beardon
Luke is a Senior Lecturer in Autism at The Autism Centre, Sheffield Hallam University.  He teaches autism at all academic levels as well as providing consultancy to individuals, families and professionals.  He is a dedicated practitioner who is a self-confessed autism obsessive.
