Developing Lesson Observation Skills using the current Ofsted Framework

TARGET AUDIENCE: Headteacher and school leaders in primary schools.

 

This training Course, led by Andrew Lagden, is designed to develop the skills of headteachers, senior and middle leaders in observing lessons using the new Ofsted Inspection Framework.   MAIN AIMS: This course will help delegates to: Develop the skills required to undertake the professional observations of colleagues’ lessons; Understand how to evaluate a lesson’s strengths and areas for development using the current Ofsted framework; Consider how to observe and evaluate pupil progress when observing colleagues’ lessons.  

 

COURSE CONTENT: Becoming familiar with the Ofsted framework; The Ofsted framework – the key focus areas; Using the Ofsted framework; Grading teaching using the four-point scale; When does good teaching become outstanding? How to recognise inadequate teaching; Observing progress in lessons; What to look for when observing progress; Observing pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
